GlobalTestMarket
December 11, 2006 GlobalTestMarket User ReviewsGlobalTestMarket is probably one of the best paid survey panels out there. They seem to be affiliated with many sources for paid surveys. I get several paying survey request from them each week, with each averaging from 50 to 100 points per survey. For those that don’t know GlobalTestMarket pays you with points and once you have accumulated 1000 points you can cash it out for $50 dollars, which comes out to 5 cents per point, or an average of about $2.50 to $5.00 per survey. Most of their surveys are pretty quick and can be completed in about 25 minutes or less and cover many topics.
The good thing about GlobalTestMarket is they even reward you with a few points if you don’t qualify for the survey, so its always good to at least try to take the time to take their surveys. You usually must respond to the survey request within several days, because the surveys reach their quota fairly quick. They have a large number of panel members. I usually qualify for about half the surveys they send me, and generally have no problem reaching a thousand points within a month or two. Just about enough to cover my monthly internet bill. Not to bad for a couple of minutes here and there. Anyways, I highly recommend this panel, and would be interested in your experiences with this panel.

I just received my first $50 check from Global Test Market. It took me around a year to earn it because I was very on again, off again with the surveys. Now I am checking for surveys on a daily basis and filling them out as they arrive. There still aren’t as many as I would like, though. I have not reached the second $50 in the one month, but possibly will by two. Are there any more tips to speed things up? Thanks and best of luck. Jan

I am glad to hear that you got your first check, kind of exciting isn’t it? My main suggestion as I state on my GlobalTestMarket review site is to be sure you fill out all of your profile surveys in the members area; this should increase the number of surveys you get. You will get surveys based on your profile, for example, I work in the information technology field, so I get a lot of IT surveys from GlobalTestMarket. If you have children, make sure you put that in your profile, because then you will get surveys on childen’s items, toys, etc. Own a house? Type of vehicles you own, etc? These all have an impact. Just continue to take all of the surveys they send you and keep your profile surveys up to date, and you should see a steady increase in your surveys. It may take more than a month for some people to reach the 1000 point / $50 mark, but be patient and be sure to join some of the other great survey sites listed on this web site.

i havent been credited with the points i should have … i have answered the 20 minutes survey but market points have not yet increased.any idea why should this happen??

GlobalTestMarket has always been good about updating their market points, so I am not sure why this would have happened if you completed the survey. My suggestion would be to check your recent survey activity in the profiles section of the member’s area, and see what the survey status was for that particular survey you completed. If it shows completed and you did not recieve your points, then I would report the issue using the contact form in the GlobalTestMarket member’s area. If it shows not completed or not started, then you can click on the link there and complete the survey. Hope that helps, and good luck with resolving your issue.

They’ve been stringing me along almost 6mths now. My check was only for $50 and I shud’ve received it in March. I’ve emailed them countless times n they just keep asking for my address which I’ve given 3 times. This reeks of scam!! Im regretful tht I’ve wasted any time on this site and even more regretful tht I’ve given them my address!

Global Test Market is the best paying survey site that I’ve found. I’ve been a member since January 2006, and I’ve just earned my 3rd 1000 points. My 3rd $50 check should arrive around the end of this month. There’s two great icentives that other sites do not offer. You usually earn at least (5) points for each survey you take, even for the ones you do not qualify for, and for each 1000 points you earn, you can request a check for $50. Many sites only offer $10 for the same amount of points. i.e. NFO Survey.
You will be surprised how fast those (5) points add up. I check my email constantly through out the day, and I always complete the ones from Global Test Market first!
Survey Spot is the next best site, I’ve earned $131 by completing their surveys. Greenfield Online surveys are long, and they do not offer enough cash rewards like Survey Spot.

Global Test Market is the best survey website. I just got the check this month for $100, and will have one more the check $50 in early next month. That’s so great! I’d love this site.

This what happened to me. As soon as I reached 1000 points and tried to redeem, I could not get in. So, I emailed them and got a respond that there was some fraudelent actitvity on my account and they are not going to pay me or send more survey. They would not explain what kind of activity and why they won’t pay me for more 1000 points but they still sent me another survey. I’m thinking maybe they are trying to get out of paying? What can I do about it?

That is weird, never had any bad experiences with them and have always been paid. Not sure what to tell you about that one other than trying to email them and asking for specific reasoning and how you might re-establish your account. Sorry to hear that, GlobalTestMarket has always been one of my favorites and others based on the reviews on this site.

Hi,
I work for GMI, GlobalTestMarket’s parent company. Wanted to say thanks for the good review, and also to point out that since writing the review, we have updated the profiling surveys with new questions, and you are now paid 10 MarketPoints per profiling survey. So upon sign up, you can within the first day earn 100 MarketPoints, which is 10% of the way to redemption right there (and of course filling out the profiling surveys help you get more regular online surveys).

Erik,
Thanks for the update, and keep up the good work with GlobalTestMarket.

Hi Erik,
I joined GTM yesterday and updated all the profilling surveys and haven’t recieved a single point, what was it that you said,,, something in the line of 10 MarketPoints per survey?
Please shed some light on this, and not the usual “ahh thats strange GMI…..”
Regards,
Jevon

My profile points took about an hour to show up after I completing my profiles, but it says on the site that it can take up to a couple of days for your points to post after completing some surveys. Did you go back and check it later to see if they showed up?
Hope that wasn’t the usual “ahh thats strange”

Hi Admin
24hrs and counting, I will continue monitor my points time will tell, generaly skeptical when comes to paid surveys.
Will keep you posted, and thanks for the fast response.
Cheers,
J

Hate to state the obvious, but does the status show complete for each of the profile surveys, and did you update your profile surveys or is this the first time you filled them out? I believe you only get credit the first time you fill out the profiles.
I understand your skepticism when it comes to paid surveys, there are lots of lemons out there, but that is what this site is all about. Trying to highlight and discuss some of the better paid survey panels, of which I think GlobalTestMarket is one.
If the points don’t show up in another day, I would contact their support via the contact tab in the member’s area.
Good luck and thanks for the update.

Up until today I would have agreed 100% with the opening comments. Couldn’t log on today so I queried this and was told my a/c had been disabled. Have asked why, but having read many reports of long time members suddenly being banned within the past few days for alleged fraud, it looks grim. I might add that I have no idea why I’ve been deleted, I’ve always answered honestly, have only one a/c and never experienced any bother before. I’ve a redemption of over 1000 pts outstanding for 6 weeks, plus another 560 in the pipeline, all of which now appears lost. Either there’s something wrong with their system (things like updating accounts and accounts in general have been very erratic for weeks now) or GTM is going down the drain. I intend to find out which, I am not going to take this lying down, and will take it all the way to the top if necessary.

Yes, I have heard from many actually that seemed to have been affected by GTM’s attempt to caught down on fraud. They actually have a web site:
http://www.puresample.com/index.php
that deals with promoting online panel integrity. I applaud their attempts to cut down on panel fraud, as it will be good for the integrity of the online market research industry; I just hope innocent people do not get caught in the middle and lose their points and member privileges.
I will try to see if I can get an official response from GMI (owner of GTM), and post it on this blog.
Thanks for all of the comments.
September 29th, 2007
That would be helpful. I agree totally that panel fraud should be cracked down on, but what are they basing their decisions on? An entry on one blog I read said that GTM implied that redeeming frequently is an indication of fraud - bearing in mind they’re probably THE most prolific survey company, of course members will be able to redeem frequently - it doesn’t follow that they are fraudsters! I get to 1000 points every 2-3 months on average - I receive lots of invitations but estimate that I qualify for 50% or less, and the reason I cash out as soon as I reach the minimum is to provide a steady trickle of income. That said, £25 every 2-3 months is hardly big money, and not a sum I’d go to the trouble of committing fraud for! £1 or so for 20 minutes compares very unfavourably to the UK’s National Minimum Wage of £5.52 an hour, so who’s defrauding whom, we might well ask!

Hi Jevon,
Did you still not receive your MarketPoints for the profiling surveys? And in your account, do they show up as completed? If so, could you please provide your email address or account number (not your password) for GlobalTestMarket, either by emailing this blog owner (who can then forward on to me) or by emailing frontdesk@globaltestmarket.com and ask them to refer the request over to Garth O’Brien.
We can take a look and figure this out for you. And I will try my best to not do the “ahhh that’s strange”. :o)
October 4th, 2007
Hi Karen,
As with Jevon, you can contact the blog owner here and have him forward your GlobalTestMarket email address/account number (not password) over to me or email frontdesk@globaltestmarket.com and have them refer it to Garth O’Brien - and feel free to say, “Erik said to have you look into this.”
In general, I can’t go into specifics as to why accounts have been shut down (stating them would allow hackers and others to find ways around them), but most of the accounts that have been shut down have in fact been for good reason (and amazingly some of them do contact the customer support team to reactivate their accounts, even when it is clear they were cheating the system). However, as it sounds in your case, as we do sweeping reviews of members, we can occasionally deactivate a legitimate account.
As for the rumor that we are canceling accounts of people who redeem cash too often, that isn’t true. There are certain accounts that are looked at because they show suspiciously high level of redemption activity, but other information is looked at to confirm anything before those members are removed. Basically, we’d be happy if all of our members are taking enough surveys to be able to redeem every couple of months.
I hope this helps.

Erik,
Thanks for you replying back to this blog, and for addressing the issues posted here. Karen or Jevon if you need me to forward your email address/account number over to Erik, I would be more than happy to assist.
For those that did not read comment#10, Erik is an employee of GMI, and has helped answer some of the questions posted on this blog.

Hello Erik,
Thank you very much for the offer to have this looked into - apologies for the rant, but having one’s account disabled without an explanation does come as something of a shock! You won’t believe this - I’m not sure I do, to be honest - I was about to ask site admin to pass on my email address to you but thought I’d try one last time to log in to the site and lo and behold, my account is back, and with more points than before. Something very odd going on; it’s late here in the UK so I’ll email them myself tomorrow to try to clarify things and ask whether my cheque is on its way. If I find I’ve been chucked out again, I’ll certainly take up your offer, though - once again, many thanks.
Karen

Hi Karen,
That’s great news. I looked at a list and figured you’d be one of the Karens on that list. As it turns out, there was an error in our system and we accidentally deactivated some accounts as a result. In response, we of course reactivated those accounts and added 100 MarketPoints to each. We will be sending out an email to the affected parties soon to explain in further detail.
Thanks for letting me know,
Erik

I took over as an Ops Manager in May of this year. Revamping an online community takes a long time, but we are making progress each month.
It is true we have had some tech issues recently. However, we have quickly resolved those errors and the affected members were awarded bonus MarketPoints for their inconvenience.
A few projects that are atop my priority list are improving customer service, member communication and the redemption process.
Those may seem like overnight upgrades, but believe me they take considerable planning and resource organization.
GlobalTestMarket depends upon members completing market research studies from our clients. It is not in the interest of GlobalTestMarket to terminate member accounts without sound reason. Since the beginning of the year GlobalTestMarket has paid out over $4.5 million to date. We are a strong company with fantastic clients and we absolutely value our GlobalTestMarket members.
Since May much has been accomplished. We updated our profilers and now provide MarketPoints to complete those studies. We have updated our website, and are in the process of updating our invites and survey templates. We also will be introducing an interesting application that will help alleviate members being directed to closed studies. Shhhhh. Do not tell Marketing I mentioned that. An announcement is going out soon.
Bottomline is to expect a much better survey experience from GlobalTestMarket in 2008. Our focus is on our members, and my sole focus is on our members.
