Get Paid To Sites: Let’s Look under the Hood
May 25, 2007After trying out several Get Paid To Sites like InBoxDollars, Panda Research, and even Treasure Trooper I often come to the same conclusion, “what a hassle”. Its not that you can’t get paid from some of these programs, its just that you have to jump through tons of hurdles to get to the point where you can cash out.
So how do Get Paid to Sites work? For the most part, these programs contain links to different offers, sometimes called “surveys”, that instruct you to sign up for a trial service or product. After signing up and completing the trial requirements, you must indicate that you have completed the trial sign up on the get paid to site(sometimes this is automatically reported). Once you have signed up, and completed the “trial”, the Get Paid To site recommends that you to cancel immediately so your credit card does not get charged for going past the trial period. A couple I see a lot are Vonage trials and BlockBuster online trials. Once the Get Paid To program gets paid from the affiliate partner, your account will be credited. The thing to remember with these programs is that you must remember to cancel the trial if you do not want to get charged!
While many of the Get Paid To Site offers require credit cards to participate, some of the sites do have what they call 100% free get paid to try offers/surveys. Treasure Trooper, seemed to have the most of the sites I evaluated. This 100% free list consists of just about any affiliate programs that offer payouts for obtaining consumer information (Email, address, etc.) Some of these sites are actually legitimate market research sites, but a lot are not. So while you do get paid to sign up for these offers, your never quite sure which ones are legit, because the Get Paid To sites usually do not offer much in the way of details about these programs and what you are signing up for.
So if you try a get paid to program you may end up with a cash payout, and discover a few good sites, but you also run the risk of incurring unexpected charges and having your private contact information distributed to “eager opportunist” throughout the net.
A Few things you should Keep In Mind When Trying Get Paid To Programs
- Don’t use your primary email address when signing up. These programs tend to attract a lot of spam.
- If you sign up for an offer with one Get Paid To Site, chances are you will not be eligible to sign up for the same offer at anothe Get Paid To Site. This is especially true when signing up with survey companies.
- You only get paid, if the Get Paid to Site gets paid from their affiliate partners, so make sure you comply with the exact specifications of the offer.
- If you are required to make an online purchase to complete an offer, don’t forget to cancel your trial, unless of course you actually want the service.
If you are just looking for a good way to earn some reoccuring income, without all the hassle and the spam, then I would recommend just signing up with several respectable online market research panels that host paid surveys. These panels will not pay you to join, but they do usually offer paid surveys, and they do not send you spam, share your information with third parties, or ever ask you to purchase anything. I find that if you put the time and effort that you spend in trying to earn money with these “get paid to sites” and redirect it to taking paid market research surveys online, you will usually come out ahead, and build an ongoing source of income for years to come.

I have done surveys for Lightspeed Panels for over a year. They usually pay in points promptly as soon as you finish the survey. I have experienced one problem with Lightspeed. I recently did a ‘Dynamic Survey” which they invited me to, showed up on time, completed the survey, approximately 90 minutes, and to this day I have not received the points promised, 2000. The survey was on April 4, 2007, today is May 25, 2007, I am still waiting. I have written several emails, which the say they will answer in 24-48 hours, and received no response. I like their surveys very much, very professional, but I like receiving promised rewards also.

Sorry to hear that about the rewards. I have had pretty good experiences with them in the past. However, I once did a product trial for them, and it did take 8 weeks for me to get the points, so I would give it a couple of weeks. I have heard of other people having issues with the support lately, so I hope this is not a trend. This has always been one of the better panels, so I hope that they keep it that way. Hope you get your points soon.

I have been doing surveys for over a month now. I’m about to cancel every one of them. They mostly ask questions about yourself and never go any further. I still have not received any money from them. I just wanted to earn FIVE TO TEN DOLARS FOR EACH SURVEY TO PAY FOR MY EXPENSIVE INSULIN.When is someone going to put a stop to this scam and I cal it a SCAM.

Most survey panels take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to receive your cash reward after you redeem your earnings from the member’s panel. I am not sure which survey panels you have joined, but I can assure you that the survey panels listed on this site do pay what they promise. I and other members have been paid.
As far as your comment:
“they mostly ask questions about yourself and never go any further”
It sounds like you may not be qualifying for some of your survey attempts, and this is the nature of online paid survey panels. They can only reward you if you fit the profile for that particular study, otherwise they themselves will not get paid from their research partners. If you have only been taking surveys for a month, I suggest you stick with it, and if you are looking for a panel that will reward you even a little if you do not qualify I suggest you try GlobalTestMarket. They offer lots of surveys, but even they have a 1000 point / $50 dollar minimum before you can claim your earnings, and again expect to wait four to six weeks before you get your check. But they do pay, I have been paid several times. Hope that helps, and sorry for your bad experiences so far.

Are there really any survey sites that pay $35-$70 per survey or is all of that just a hoax?
I notice that most of the sites listed here are paying $3-$5 per survey. Is that the norm for a legitimate company?
Thanks

Most paid market research firms will pay anywhere from $2 to $25 dollar per typical 15 to 30 minute online surveys, with the average being more like $2 to $10. However, if you take a specialized survey or a participate in a longer online focus group than earnings up to $100 dollars per survey are possible. For instance, I have earned as much as $75 taking information technology related surveys.

Its really about your demographic, and how much the study is worth to the particular market research firm, and how many members are available that can qualify for that particular study. So to sum up, $35 to $70 is not necessarily a hoax, its just not the norm, and we would rather list real averages so that our readers are well informed.

Does Survey Monster charge you to take the survey. I know I went thru one survey company and gave them my debit card number but it didn’t look like it took. I thought it was this one but decided I don’t want to participate. Can’t afford it right now.

Do not know about Survey Monster, but we here at Online-Paid-Surveys.net do not charge any fees for our survey listings, and all the panels are free to join. It will not cost you a penny, and you should be able to make a little extra income. I would suggest you start with the top 10 User Recommeded list on the home page.
