By no means do I consider myself an expert when it comes to making money taking surveys. But since starting down the survey-taking road more than two years ago, I have developed a plan that has proved successful, in my mind anyway. Over the past six months I have averaged better than $200 a month taking surveys and that does not include gift certificates and testing and keeping various products. I have no idea if I will be able to maintain this pace but I am hopeful and it certainly will not be for a lack of effort. Because this community has been so helpful to me in maximizing my income potential, I would like to share my tips and strategy, and perhaps you too will reap the cash rewards from taking surveys.
First and foremost, I advocate being honest and trustworthy in taking surveys. While I want to make as much money as I can, I will not jeopardize my integrity for a couple of dollars. Don’t rush through surveys and be thoughtful and patient in your answers. When survey sites see that you are a good, quality survey-taker, I actually think it results in more survey invitations.
I must give special recognition to this site. It was central to my being able to develop a plan to maximize my money-making ability. I recommend that you investigate this site in its entirety and then check in regularly for other useful information. One of the biggest mistakes I made initially was joining every survey site I could find. I quickly found that I was spending an inordinate amount of time taking surveys that paid off in points for trinkets I could not use or for points to be used in various contests and sweepstakes that I never won. So I used this site to help me sort through the survey sites that were worth my time and effort and offered cash for taking surveys. After purging my computer of dozens and dozens of sites that were a waste of my time, I came up with a list of about 15 that proved the most promising. And over the past few months I have made revisions based on my success or dissatisfaction with my chosen group and have also added a couple of sites based on reviews from this site.
It takes a lot of time, effort and dedication. Don’t wait for the surveys to come to you by way of email invitation, many sites have surveys waiting for you on their site. Check in with your favored sites several times a day and always remember to keep your profiles up to date. Take every survey for which you are qualified. I know it gets boring and frustrating to take a survey that initially does not offer a cash incentive, however I cannot tell you the number of times such a survey has led to something better. As a result of such surveys, I have been invited to join communities that offer gift certificates; I have participated in interactive sessions paying as much as $35 for 90 minutes of my time; I have been invited to join focus groups online and by phone that paid out as much as $250 for several hours of my time.
Again, I cannot stress enough that it requires as much time as you can devote day and night, seven days a week. This is my hobby and the fact that it is providing what I believe to be a nice side income, it is worth the effort I put into it. I hope my tips can help you harvest the rewards from taking surveys!

I totally agree with you about integrity with surveys. The more people don’t use the truth, the more it hurts the rest of us.
I also agree that it does take a lot of time and dedication, but you can certainly earn some decent money for it being a hobby or a side income.
i am very new to this paid survey business but in my short time i have discovered some facts;1-survey sites are not out to give free money to you they are marketers wanting to advertise thier sponsors products by using cash incentives.2-you will only discover the real ones yourself after you relate with them, there is too much hype ads on the net you will discover them yourself.3-dont raise your expectation too much ,most of us go for the free offers, and with that you cant make more than 400 dollars per month tops.5-you dont have to pay to access surveys there are many sites and companies offering free listing of good survey sites.good luck.
Excellent article and very well written. Here is my summary of survey earnings.
I started keeping records of my paid online surveys January 31, 2008. It has been 15 months since I started. I spend an average of two to three hours per day taking surveys. Here are the amounts that I have earned from 33 paid online survey sites. I have earned $2546.09 in 15 months from 33 survey sites, which is $212.17 per month. My actual receipts are $2396.99, which is $199.75 per month. The average survey site earned $6.43 per month, but that does not take into account how recently I joined some sites, so I predict that this number will go up dramatically. About 15% of my earnings are from product trials and Invoke Interactives. I just joined Viewpoint, SurveyHead, Paid Survey Rewards and Web Cash List in the past month or two. I have retired Tik Tik Cash, a trial offer site, that I received $100.06 from and the invitation-only Capital One forum, which not only earned me $80.00 in Amazon gift certificates, but also awarded me an Apple MacBook ($1300) and Apple 8gb Touch iPod ($200) in their forum-ending contest.
I have heard alot about ViewPoint and would like to be referred. Could someone please refer me to i could start please????:)
