Great News from IPSOS!

Guest Blogger - Carrie Anne

The i-Say program is launching a new program in April! There are going to be quite a few changes in store, it sounds like.

The biggest change is that you will no longer just be taking surveys for a chance to win things. It sounds like you will have guaranteed rewards for taking surveys. They are going to offer a program similar to many out there that you will earn reward points for taking surveys. You can then redeem the points for gift cards and merchandise, based on the amount of points you have accumulated.

There has not been any further information released yet on this program or what type of rewards will be offered. The program should be coming out in the next few weeks, so keep a close eye out for it!

Follow-up on IPSOS New Rewards System

As of last week, IPSOS (i-Say) has finally changed to a points based rewards system. This will make it more worthwhile than just giving your opinion for a chance to win something (which I had never won). You still get a chance to do an instant win, on top of the points you earn for each survey you do too.

Basically under the new system, you complete the surveys and earn points. Most surveys will be worth between 1 and 25 points, this depends on the length of the survey. Points should show up in your account within a day or two of taking the survey. Once you have 50 points, you can redeem from their long list of gift cards & merchandise.

A cool thing is that the points will never expire as long as you stay an active member (meaning you take surveys routinely). So, you can save up your points for bigger items if you’d like.

They do have a lot of great gift cards and some alright merchandise. It does seem that alot of things start at around 100 points for redemption, but I have to admit that the redemption site is a bit cumbersome to go through, so I may not have spent enough time on it. An example of a smaller points items: $5 BLOCKBUSTER gift card for 50 points. I have already had one survey sent to me since the change and it was for 10 points and it didn’t take very long. So, I think this may be a worthwhile system.

Well, it’s been over a month and I have not been really thrilled with the new system. I think the points per time spent on a survey is REALLY low. I think once I get my $5 blockbuster card, I may stop using them altogether, unless they give me some better points for the surveys. An example. This past week, I got a 30 min survey and they were going to give me 4 points to do it. At that rate, it’s pennies an hour (no I didn’t do the math, but if 50 pts is $5….)

So, it’s up to you to decide if this is worth it or not.

Yes, I tend to agree. I do think that IPSOS is making steps in the right direction, but much improvement is needed in the rewards category.

I just received a newsletter from them that showed one of their of their VIP members that won a brand new Mini Cooper. Here is a link if you are interested:

So it is possible to win nice sweepstakes rewards, bur I think what most survey panel members our looking for are better guaranteed point ratios for online surveys they complete.

  4. Carrie Anne response :

I agree with you about what you said, I think I do prefer a better guaranteed ratio for the time I spend completeing a survey. But, hey winning a car would be nice! LOL
