Your2Cents Starting New $3 plus Mobile Surveys

If you are an existing Your2Cents Member, you may have received a recent notice
about upcoming mobile survey opportunities in which you would answer questions using your mobile phone’s voice, text, or web capabilities. The good thing about these mobile surveys is that they are going to be paying at least $3 per completed survey, and they are expected to be shorter than the normal surveys.

If you did not receive the email or if you are interested but not already a member here are the details of the new program: If selected for a survey, you will receive a text message invitation at the mobile number you provide. Some surveys will invite you to call a number and answer questions using your keypad; others may ask you to text short answers to questions, or to visit a website to take a survey. If you qualify and complete a mobile survey, you will receive a cash reward of $3 or more credited to your account. You will also receive one entry for their $5,000 cash giveaway for attempting or completing the survey.

I normally do not like to like to give out my cell number on public site, but Your2Cents is a respected program I have never had any problem with them in the past sharing out my contact informations. Plus, they guarantee that all the information you provide is STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL, and will be analyzed in aggregate with all other responses. Also, if you are interested in the program be sure to remember that all text message, web fees, etc. are your responsibility, so if someone else pays your bill make sure you let them know.

I have just signed up for the program, and will be providing my feedback about my experiences with their new mobile surveys here. I welcome other Your2Cents members that participate to leave feedback as well, and if you are not already a member, but you are interested in joining Your2Cents, you can find more information and sign up links on our Your2Cents details page.

I’m sorry…I couldn’t figure out how to start a new blog, so I’m feeding of this one.

I have what is probably a really dumb question…

A reviewer on this website wrote that survey companies compare survey takers. So, am I to understand that if I am doing surveys with Survey Spot (for instance) that I may stop getting as many surveys from, say, My Survey.com?

I use to get survey invitations from Opinion Outpost, but once I joined Survey Spot, I noticed I stopped getting survey invites from Opinion Outpost.

If that’s the case, do ALL survey companies compare? How does a person know which ones to use and which ones to avoid?

If anyone has any info or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Mary Ann,

Guest can only posts in existing blog topics, so you did the right thing. You have given me an idea though, I need to have a blog section for questions like the one you asked.

As for your question, I have not really experienced this issue before. Now I do know that sites like Opinion Outpost do “republish” surveys from companies like Greenfield, OTX, etc, but I have never noticed any reductions in invitations. I am a member of both Survey Spot and Opinion Outpost, and I still get plenty of surveys from both.

If anybody else on the site has any input on this topic, please post as I too would be interested to know if this really happens.

Just wanted to follow up with this thread…

When I first read about this subject matter, I called my girlfriend, who is also a survey taker. She only belongs to a couple of sites. Opinion Outpost is one of them, Survey Spot is not. We discussed the matter, but she really didn’t have any insight at the time.

This last Tuesday, I received a call from her telling me that she had just taken a survey from Opinion Outpost. When the survey CONCLUDED, she was taken to another company’s website for credit. Lo and behold, it was SurveySpot!! At the surveyspot screen, she was asked for her email address and log-in ID. She gave her OPINION OUTPOST information.

She told me that this has happened before, but never paid any attention to it.

I thought this was very interesting. I don’t know if it means anything, but I thought I would get the word out there.

    Mary,

Yes I have seen this before, where basically Opinion Outpost post surveys sourced from other panels. I think this is common practice with some of the smaller Market Research Panels. However usually after the completion of the survey you should get redirected back to the originated survey panel and receive credit from them. Sounds like there may have been a glitch with the survey.

I hear that Yougov (political polling in the UK) is doing some pretty good offers for online surveys. These surveys tend to be pretty short and they still pay you about £1 for each one apparently. Does anyone here know anything about this? I was thinking of posting this info on my blog (survey.its-a-blog.com) but not sure whether it’s any good. Does anyone have any experience of this?

    Daniel,

I have heard that Yougov is a good survey panel from some of the message boards that I have read, but not being from the UK I have not personally joined that panel. If anyone out there from the UK has any input, please comment.

    Thanks
