Your2Cents is Joining the Toluna Family of Survey Panels

by Jim the Admin on June 14, 2009

The Toluna family of survey panels span over 30 countries and currently have over 2.5 million members. Toluna will be extending their reach into North America with the inclusion of Your2cents into their family of panels. This summer, Toluna.com will be launched in North America, and will replace the Your2Cents website. However, existing Your2cents need not worry, your membership, and any points or other rewards you may have accumulated, will be automatically transferred to your account on the new Toluna.com website, as well as any profile information you have provided. Plus, you will continue to receive opportunities to tell providers of products and services what you think and earn points by participating in surveys as you do today. In addition, once the the Toluna transition is completed Your2cents members will have the following features:

  • Your Own Personal Hub – All members will have their own personal profile page on Toluna.com where they can share information.
  • Enhance your personal website or blog – As a member, you will be able to easily export the topics and polls you create on Toluna directly to your own personal web site or blog.
  • New reward choices – In addition to the current cash reward option, Toluna is planning to offer you more choices for point redemption. The value of rewards offered for survey participation will remain the same.

So stay tuned and for a preview check out their UK site at toluna.com.

I wait to see what changes Toluna brings to Your2Cents. From what I’ve read it sounds good but who would post unpopular changes in the first place? Here’s one idea they could use, offer Paypal as a choice for cashing out. I know that under Your2Cents a check takes about 8 weeks to be sent. Paypal is gaining popularity with other survey sites as they have implemented it per their members. I prefer it over snail mail because on occasion my mail is misdelivered, the party getting it not exactly honest about returning it.
Actions speak louder than words so lets see how Toluna runs the show.

If the UK site is anything to go by, I wouldn’t hold your breath, Tom. Their administration is appalling – it often takes months for survey points to be added – the invitations say 4 weeks but you’re lucky if that happens – at least 50% of the surveys I’ve done, I’ve had to chase them for the points. Then after reaching the cashout threshold, it takes them another 8 weeks to send the vouchers out. This timescale was recently increased from 4 weeks, probably because they got fed up with complaints. At one time you even had to wait 4 weeks or more for Amazon vouchers to be ‘delivered’, whereas other companies can manage this within days. At present, PayPal isn’t an option here. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, hope your site is better administered than ours!
