Since 1994, Greenfield Online has served online data collection needs of the largest research companies in the industry and helps companies get closer to their consumers by gathering consumer feedback. They started out as business unit of Greenfield Consulting Group, Inc, and then later IPO'ed in April 2004 and now trade on the NASDAQ stock exchange under the symbol SRVY. In 2005 they aquired goZing.com, Rapidata.net, and Ciao GmbH, which broadened their global presence.

The company hosts several several online paid survey panels, and they claim to have paid their members over $4,000,000 in cash in 2006 alone. Greenfield Online has offices in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Romania, the US, and Canada, which has enabled it to build an online panel of millions of respondents around the globe. Getting Started. Once you sign up to become a member, you will gain access to the Greenfield MySurvey Center members page. The members site gives you access to the current surveys available, your member profiles surveys, your account balance and history, answers to common questions, and many more stats. Our first recommendation is to fill out the nine profile surveys in the members area. These profile surveys are not rewarded, but are quick to fill out, and will enable you to get more survey offers, specifically those that match your profile.

What to expect? Although you can always find survey offers in the member's MySurvey Center, Greenfield Online will automatically email you survey invitations that they feel may be a close match for your profile. Each invitation will indicate the survey topic, the estimated time to complete the survey, and the reward for completing the survey. The amount of surveys you will receive depends on your profile and the current studies being conducted, but in general you should expect several invitations a week. Greenfield Online sends out more survey invitations than most other panels, however most of the surveys are for cash sweepstakes entries, but some offer cash rewards ranging from $1 to $10 dollars, with some higher amounts possible in extended surveys. You have to qualify for most of the cash surveys by answering a few introductory screener questions. Based on your answers and the survey client's needs, you may be asked to complete the survey. The good thing is that even if you don't qualify, you are usually still awarded with a sweepstakes entry for attempting the survey. There is no minimum required to redeem your survey earnings, and once you claim your earnings you should expect to receive a check within four to eight weeks. Our Advice: It is a good idea to take the first couple of survey invitations to show your dedication to the panel. After that though, we recommend that you take all of the cash incentive surveys that you feel are worth your time, and to take a few sweepstakes surveys a month that have topics that are interesting to you. Unless you simply have lots of time, I would not recommend taking all of the survey invitations they send out. It is too time consuming, and your time can better spent taking survey invitations from the other survey panels we recommend. The most important advice is to answer the surveys honestly, and to take time to answer them correctly. Greenfield, as well as most of the other panels, are looking for good factual information for their clients needs. The better your responses, the more likely it is that you will be invited to take future paid surveys.

Greenfield Online offers lots of surveys, and the compensation generally ranges in the $1 to $10 dollar range. They also send many sweepstakes only surveys, and some of the surveys tend to be a little long. There is no minimum threshold to receive payment and they will have a PayPal payment option soon. They have a great member web site which makes it easy to keep track of your balance and surveys that you have taken. We give Greenfield high marks for its overall earnings potential, and we definitely recommend this panel.
